There are no guarantees for the talented musician. They can take your money, but the love of your music will aways remain.
30 years later, switching to what was popular (media) would be the start of a downward slide for musicians. Some would say, that the MP3 was a curse. Yes, it made it easier for us to play music on our mp3 players, iPods, and mobile devices, but it also allowed opportunity for illegal downloads. Everyone remembers Napster. They were the pioneers of the illegal download. What I meant to say was “file sharing” pioneers. They were later sued by Metallica for sharing the music without legal permission to do so. From the day they went to court, many other celebrities joined the fight against platforms that would allow illegal downloads.
Art rendering of an Andy Warhol painting. I am pretty sure, that its just a replica, and it only took 15 minutes to paint.
It was once quoted by the late Andy Warhol, that “In the future everybody will be world famous for fifteen minutes”. This quote later became what we know today as “everyone’s 15 minutes of fame”. So anything that happens on t.v. or in radio, or the internet, people will automatically refer to this once famous quote. Was this quote to be taken literally? Is it accurate? Let’s start by reviewing the application of this quote, and how it may apply to you as a Country music artist.
Marketing you way out of the music business? Does this sound familiar to you? Well, here are some things you should know, and understand completely.
Maybe your at a point, where you are tired of being a music artist. You have invested much time, money and effort into singing and you wish you could get out of it. No matter what marketing objectives you have, or what strategies you have tried nothing is working like you want. You have been reading articles on the internet, and taking advice from your publicist. Everything seems to point to giving your music away to obtain an audience. After all, that is what other independents are doing. Really? Is that what all the other “no name” independents are doing? Giving your music away, is what all the articles on the internet are saying to do? I believe that the advice that you are receiving is one of the best ways to move yourself right out of the music business. Well, that and just giving up all together. Which in reality, is basically what you are doing, when you give away your music for FREE.
When you are country, there is a brother or sister around the world ready to connect. #countrystrong
Our roots run deep, and there isn't any feelings of race. We put all things aside for the benefit of those that share our love for country music. It's a way of life. It's how we care for our young, and how we care for the elderly. We love hard on Fridays, fish on Saturdays, and worship on Sundays. Then somewhere in between we find time for some hunting. It is the fabric of who we are, no matter where we live worldwide. We all share a common bond.
Pancakes without the syrup, now that really don't make much sense now does it? Well maybe in a pinch, but typically not.
As you are about to sit down for your favorite blueberry pancakes, you reach into the cupboard for the pancake syrup and it’ nowhere to be found. All of a sudden, what was to be the highlight of your day, has now turned into an unpleasant experience. What does pancakes and syrup have to do with websites and social media, you ask? It has everything to do with it. Syrup is the perfect compliment to the stack of pancakes.
Not every great talent makes it to the big stage regardless of the desire of their fans or audience. Often leaves you with your mouth wide open, wondering what is happening? Where did they go wrong?
Unfortunately, most good artists do not get very far in their singing career. If it were up to me, every talented musician would get a record contract that would make their dreams come true. It has become increasingly difficult for musicians to make it to the big stage. Even if they deserve it and even if they are talented enough to be there. What makes it so difficult, often times is out of your control. There is a common expression in the industry that in order to make it “YOU MUST BE UNIQUE, AND BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE”.
It wouldn't seem kind of obvious that not everyone that sings, is a great singer. But surprisingly there are many people out there still trying to make a career of it. Sad to say, there are few that actually make it.
The country musicians that have made an impact on our lives.
He said what about my taste in music? Now, those are fighting words. Do you recall feeling that way? No one talks negative about a musician or band that has made an impact on your life. Let's face it, great music goes deep inside us. It goes as far as the bones. Country fans, are country through and through. Maybe you will agree with this article, and see some of the artist or bands that have made a long last impression upon your life. Maybe you won't. However, I have a feeling that I have covered them very well.
Yes, that's right! Tape cassette's are making a come back.
You heard me right. I am officially starting a campaign for all the manufactures to start producing them in mass quantities. From every band you ever duped, to the solid rock performers at your High School Prom. Tape cassette's never went out of style or lost it's use. They just made room for other technologies to show how much more effective cassette's tapes are.
