System Release 1.0 - FTP Site (File Transfer Protocol) What does it mean to you?
“Don’t let the unknown intimidate you”.
System Upgrades 1.0 – We added FTP site to make it easier for you to upload music. You may wonder what is FTP? It stands for File Transfer Protocol. As the name suggests, FTP is used to transfer files between computers on a network. You can use FTP to exchange files between computer accounts, transfer files between an account and a desktop computer, or access online software archives.
Wow, that seems like a lot of technical jargon for just uploading files. Well, its going to help Country Music Vibe streamline the way we accept music for our radio station. We want to stay “on point” at all times. Before FTP, we would accept files sent to our email address. If you can imagine what an email looks like with a combination of important documents and music uploads. We consider both to be priority. However, this can get disorganized. So to keep this from happening we created an FTP site.
The name of the website is www.cmvbox.com it is simple to use, but there is a lot of coding and work done behind the scenes to get this up and running effectively. We have additional plans for the site, but that will be down the road. Right now, it will be just for uploading music and documentation. We will go into detail about FTP and how it effects our system processes in a later article. However, we wanted to announce the release of this upgrade to or procedures to receive files. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
This link will also be available at the bottom of our website. It will be called File Transfer. Thank you. If you have any questions email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
